Victorian Iron Fencing Available at the Cottage

Victorian iron fencing is hard to find. This is only the second time in 10 years we’ve had it in our Shasta Lake antique shop. These beauties were picked up during our summer road trip in the Midwest.

Made by Crager Wireworks in Salt Lake City, we have roughly 50 ft of vintage fencing available. They’re solid cast iron and each section of fencing weighs about 45 – 50 lbs. You could preserve the remaining paint for that antique feel with a clear matte finish spray sealant or take the opportunity to splash some new paint for your décor needs.

Top 3 Ways to Repurpose Iron Fencing

  1. Upcycle to a gorgeous headboard. The pieces we have now would be ideal for a king size metal headboard, and we have a couple to work for a twin iron headboard. We recommend using solid bolts for securing to your wall.
  2. Convert into an indoor iron stair bannister. We have 5 matching iron posts which could make an impressive addition to a stairway and easy to decorate for the holidays.
  3. Transform your outdoor area with an iron fence trellis. We’ve seen people use them in gardens for their tomatoes and beans. They also do an amazing job softening a wall or adding a dramatic focal point from a distance.

BONUS: With plenty of stock right now, you could also go the traditional route of actually using it for outdoor fencing to transform your yard, garden or property.
